Elder
Kanneh
Felix Kanneh reported to the MTC March 31st 2016. When we first met Elder Kanneh, he handed us this story of his life.
When he was 4 months old, rebels entered into the village in Liberia where he and his parents lived. Both of his parents were killed as they were fleeing the village. A neighbor saw him lying by his dead mother. She grabbed him and continued her own flight. She was able to put him in an ambulance that was transporting the wounded to Sierra Leone. She eventually made it there herself and found him again in the refugee camp. She was really struggling to feed her own children so when a couple from Sierra Leone offered to take Elder Kanneh and raise him with their own eight children, she let him go. He has stayed in touch with her. She still lives in the Liberian refugee camp outside of Bo in Sierra Leone. A friend that he made Sierra Leone introduced him to the Church. As he started preparing to go on a mission two years ago, the senior couple serving in his area took him to interview the neighbor lady, who had saved him, to find out what he could about his biological parents. He has a copy of that interview and had enough information to do their temple work and then be sealed to them while at the MTC.
Today this hope and dream of Elder Kanneh became a reality! With the help of Elder and Sister Tibbitts, the work was completed for his parents. Can you just feel the absolute joy on his face? Today we all felt a little closer to heaven!

This was a day our missionaries will never forget. They were able to do the work for a family member.
Future missionaries!
These sweet sisters have stollen my heart!
