LAST WEEKEND AT THE MTC

SATURDAY WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND THE BAPTISM OF OUR DEAR FRIEND KWASI. WE MET HIM AT THE ARTS AND CRAFTS CENTER WHERE HE SELLS ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE AFRICAN TEXTILES

OUR DAUGHTER IS A CLOTHING AND TEXTILE DESIGN GRADUATE WITH HER OWN COMPANY SELLING VINTAGE TEXTILE PILLOWS. SHE VISITED US IN MARCH AND HAS BEEN A GOOD CUSTOMER OF KWASI'S.

IT WAS GREAT TO RECONNECT WITH ONE OF OUR MTC MISSIONARIES WHO HAD TAUGHT KWASI

IT WAS A NICE SERVICE EVEN THOUGH THE FOUNT WAS ONLY PARTLY FULL

THE PEINES ARE ALSO KWASI'S FRIENDS AND CUSTOMERS

ON TO SUNDAY

THE RELIEF SOCIETY MEETS FOR THE THIRD HOUR OF THE BLOCK AND THEY ARE ALWAYS SO NEATLY DRESSED ADDING COLOR TO THE MTC

SUNDAY MEANS LEADERSHIP MEETINGS, SACRAMENT MEETING, SUNDAY SCHOOL/DISTRICT MEETINGS, PRIESTHOOD AND RELIEF SOCIETY MEETINGS, INTERVIEWS, FAMILY HISTORY WORKSHOP, A PROVO MTC DEVOTIONAL REBROADCAST, COMPANIONSHIP STUDIES AND EVALUATION,  AN EVENING DEVOTIONAL WITH PRESIDENT AND SISTER BRUBAKER, FOLLOWED BY A CHURCH MOVIE SUCH AS LEGACY (IN FRENCH IN ONE ROOM AND IN ENGLISH IN ANOTHER)

ELDER AND SISTER HILL DO SO MUCH TO HELP US, AND FAMILY HISTORY IS A LARGE PART OF WHAT THEY DO.  BECAUSE OF THIS EFFORT WE WERE ABLE TO HAVE  FOUR SEALINGS OF MISSIONARIES TO DECEASED PARENTS LATER IN THE WEEK.

SISTER MAIFANO FROM TAHITI IS A TALENTED FAMILY HISTORY SPECIALIST AND WAS A GREAT HELP TO THE FRENCH SPEAKING ELDERS AND SISTERS AS THEY RESEARCHED THEIR ANCESTERS.

IN THE PRESIDENT'S DEVOTIONAL WE DISCUSSED BECOMING WORTHY REPRESENTATIVES BY ... PUTTING CHILDISH THINGS AND BEHAVIOR ASIDE,  NOT GIVING THE WARDS AND BRANCHES THEY WILL WORK IN ANY REASON TO 'DESPISE THEIR YOUTH',  TREATING EVERY RACE AND NATIONALITY EQUALLY AS 'FELLOW CITIZENS IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD' AND PUTTING ASIDE TRADITIONAL TRIBAL RIVALRIES AND DISCRIMINATIONS 'NO MORE -ITES'.
