The New MTC Nears Completion

As you may have heard there is a new facility being built to house the Ghana MTC. Here are two renderings of what the finished product will look like ...

The three buildings in the foreground are the new MTC buildings

This shows what the front elevation will look like

This was the state of Construction at the end of 2015

This photo from about two years ago shows the area where the courtyard will be
(Where the green crane is attached to the ground)

As of today this is the courtyard.

There is a great deal of native African hardwood being used in the building. It is being used under the eaves as well as for a wall and ceiling material.

A view of the covered walkway from the courtyard

This wall in the entry will be the home to a beautiful hand-carved panel
 depicting Lehi's dream.

This is the prototype for the large carving. The finished product will be almost 9 feet by 3 feet!!!

In this photo you can see one of the many trees that the contractor was able to save.

We are planning on the building and decorating to be 100% complete by the end of July. We hope to hold a public open-house during the first part of August. We currently plan for the first group of missionaries to be trained in the new facility to arrive on the 17th of August.
The formal dedication should take place sometime in October.

This is so exciting !!!!!!

We will miss our home in Tema but it will be so great not to have to travel the Tema-Accra motorway each time we go to the airport or attend the temple.
